Full minutes of the meeting will be posted in the Narthex on the bulletin board.
A Note From Father Bob:
Many thanks to the creative and hard-working folk that made our Annual Meeting a success, and to the members of our congregation that participated in the meeting and our Ministry Prioritizing exercise. The result of that is lots of good information for our new Vestry to review and process. It was a bit chaotic but very much Blessed by God.
Many thanks too for the Vestry members who are continuing for another term, Judy Kistner and Roger Andersen along with our two new Vestry members, Brad Goergen and Daisy Beach. I am looking forward to a great year with these faithful ministers in Jesus Name.
Speaking of Ministry, Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent are coming like a speeding truck. Heads up! Everyone!
Tuesday, February 17th, we will have the opportunity to gather for the traditional Pancake Supper at 5pm and on Ash Wednesday there will be two services of Holy Eucharist, February 18th, and the administration of ashes at noon and 7pm. This worship time marks the beginning of our entrance into a Holy Lent.
Each Wednesday evening during Lent we will have the opportunity to gather for a Soup Supper at 6:30pm and a Lenten Program at 7pm, led by Eric Hanson and myself. Please join us.
-Fr. Bob Dunn
BETTY BELL MEMORIAL
A memorial for Betty Bell will be held at St. Alban’s on February 7, 2015, at 1:00pm. followed by a reception. Betty was a longtime member of St. Alban’s and will be sorely missed.
ALTAR GUILD- COME JOIN
The next Altar Guild meeting is February 4th in the Parish Hall at 6:00p.m. If you are interested in finding out about what we do, or would like to join us, please plan to attend this meeting. Father Bob will be with us to talk about plans for Lent, Holy Week and Easter. There are four teams, each one covers a week each month.
Altar Guild is a very rewarding way to serve not only the parish but God as well. The duties are not strenuous and each member is given thorough training.
DONATIONS FOR SUNDAY FLOWERS
The flower chart for 2015 is posted beside the main doors to the sanctuary. The procedure for donating flowers is noted on the wall next to the flower chart. At this time, there are plenty of opportunities for flower donations to be given in thanksgiving celebration or in memory of loved ones. If you have questions, please call Sharon Joy
HELP FOR BUILDINGS & GROUNDS
The Buildings & Grounds committee, headed by Lee Forsberg, is in great need of additional workers. Most of the crews’ time is spent doing cleaning and maintenance of the grounds. The current team devotes a lot of time and attention to keeping everything clean and safe for all. If you can help in any way, please talk to Lee Forsberg or call him at 425-774-4571.
There are two key stewards’ reminders in today’s lessons. Psalm 103 urges us to “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits”, and the conclusion of Matthew’s Gospel passage points out that we need to choose carefully what our life treasures are to be, and to whom or what they will be committed.
Psalm 25 says in part: “A Show me your ways, O Lord, and teach me your paths…” Do we depend on reading and study, regular worship with our parish family, generous thankful giving, and regular prayer time to help us be open to what the Lord my indeed want to show us?
The Epistle from Romans says No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God…(he was( fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. Are we striving to bring the same faith to our spiritual and stewardship lives? The idea of absolute trust in our Creator can be an elusive idea to wrap our hearts and minds around!
