BLESS OUR CLEAN-UP CREW!!

We owe a big round of applause for the great clean-up done by Lee Forsberg, Keith Labelle, Ron Sodetani and John Taylor.  There were leaves, branches and evergreen needles all over the grounds and roof from the recent (and seemingly ongoing) winds and rain.  These four worked for hours on a pretty chilly morning to spruce up our church property.  Please give them your personal thanks.

CHRISTMAS GIFT CARDS
As we have done in the past, funds are being collected to contribute to the Christmas Outreach Program at Chase Lake Elementary.  These funds will be used to purchase gift cards from Fred Meyer to help families that are needy.  There are 60% more families that need help this year than last year.  Please put your check in the offertory plate with “Chase Lake” on the “for” line or put cash in an envelope marked Chase Lake.  Jim Nichols will deliver the gift cards to the school no later than December 13th.  Thank you in advance for your help with this project.

ECW CHRISTMAS POTLUCK
The date for ECW’s Christmas Potluck has been changed to Tuesday, December 17, at 5:00 p.m.  This is a great annual get-together for all the women of St. Alban’s.  There will be a gift exchange (limit of $10), music, fun and plenty of wonderful food.  You are asked to bring your favorite dish – salad, hot dish, dessert or appetizer.

ALTAR FLOWERS
Are you interested in donating altar flowers in 2014?  Here’s how!
1)     Print your name on the flower chart posted on the bulletin board to the left of the Sanctuary door.
2)     You will receive a letter from Altar Guild requesting your dedication instructions.  Fill out the letter and return it asap.
3)    You will receive a statement from Altar Guild AFTER your flowers have been delivered to the church.  The cost is $40 per Sunday.  If two people donate, the cost is $20 each.
Donations and/or dedications are NOT accepted during Advent or Lent.  Only two donations can be accommodated on any Sunday.

READERS, EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS, VISITORS,
             AND WORSHIP LEADERS
There will be an important gathering at 9:00am in the Sanctuary on Sunday, December 1st.  Other meetings will be announced at a later date.We are looking forward to seeing all of you.

READER BOARD REMINDER

Each week, Lee Forsberg takes a quote from the weekly Gospel reading and posts a great one-liner on the reader board.  When you come to church, take a moment to reflect on this quotation and reminder of our bible lesson.  Thanks, Lee!

HANDS ON OPPORTUNITY

St. Alban’s will provide dinner for the Compass Center on Sunday, November 17.  You can help by signing up to donate food or money and help prepare the food.  If making a contribution, please note that it is for “Hands On.”  Compass Center is a transitional housing program for formerly homeless vets, and the residents greatly appreciate our efforts.  For more information, Contact Dan Mullene at 425-776-8258 or Maryellen Young at 425-776-2461.

MISSION TO SEARARERS DITTY BAGS

The annual Ditty Bag Stuffing Event is Saturday, November 23, at 9:30am at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in West Seattle.  Items still needed are small sizes of shampoo,  shaving cream, tooth paste, deodorant, bar soap, pens, pencils, notepads and disposable razors.  Ditty bags are a little larger than a shoe bag.

THANKS FROM PARISH CARE TEAM

There was a great response from parishioners to Parish Care’s request for help providing meals for those recovering from surgery or other emergencies.  To date 16+ meals have been provided.  There is still need for drivers for two ladies attending our 10:30 service.  Both are loyal parishioners and greatly need our assistance.   Please see Mary Ellen Gardiner, call 425-778-1970 or email her at meggard@comcast.net.  You are under no obligation.
